Sailing Cuba has become easier now that Cuba’s government has improved their relationship with the United States and other countries. People are now able to sail to the country of Cuba and experience the beauty and culture of the land. Visitors will enjoy the calm waters and beautiful weather as well as the amazing scenery and history.

Anyone visiting Cuba will need to dock at one of the main ports of entry. These ports include Cienfuegos, Hemingway Marina in Havana, Marina Cayo Largo, Marina Los Morros, Puerto de Vita, Santiago de Cuba and Varadero. There is a detailed process that every visitor needs to go through as they arrive in Cuba, but the locals are very friendly and helpful with each step of the process.

Havana is probably the most popular city to visit in Cuba. There are many walking tours of the city, so visitors are able to see the historic streets and buildings. Visitors also see many classic and old American cars lining these same streets.

Two of the more popular attractions in Havana are the Museum of Fine Arts and the Cristobol Colon Cemetery. The museum consists of two buildings. One of the buildings specializes in Cuban arts while the other is dedicated to universal arts. The Colon Cemetery was founded in 1876 and was named for Christopher Columbus. The cemetery is located on 140 acres of land and has more than 500 mausoleums, chapels and family vaults. Tour guides can share stories about all of the important people who are buried in the cemetery.

Eating a meal in Cuba can be quite an experience, especially if visitors can enjoy a meal at a Paladares. A Paladares is a family run restaurant and each restaurant has foods that they specialize in. Most times these restaurants have live bands playing music and guests should be prepared to dance the mambo or salsa before, during or after their meal.

At the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, the Parisien Cabaret has a great show called “Cuban, Cubano”. This shows shares how the Indoamerican, Hispanic and African cultures were blended together to create Cuban culture. After the show, guests are invited to stay so that they can learn how to dance in the traditional Cuban style.
