Corfu Sailing Greece

Sailing Holidays in Greece Corfu

A sailing itinerary for Corfu allows you to visit the beautiful bays and coves of the Ionian Islands located off of Albania and Greece’s northwestern shore. The islands offer one of the most scenic experiences in Greece, woodlands spread over the hills and sandy beaches with picturesque fishing villages adding to the natural beauty. Offering a peaceful, serene ambience, the waters of these islands are calm and inviting. The typical sailing itinerary for Corfu focuses on both northern and southern Ionian Islands offering various adventures depending on what you are looking for on your sailing holiday. While on your sailing holiday in Greece Corfu, be sure to sample some of the famous Sofritos from one of the bistros or restaurants of Spianada.

Bay of Lakka Paxos

After sailing the Ionian Sea, your first stop is the small, scenic Paxos Island. Offering excellent anchorages off the small harbor towns of Lekka and Gaios, or to the south lies Anti Paxos, with a beautiful anchorage and a scenic creek. The beaches off of Anti Paxos offer breathtaking views to relax by and explore.

Ithaca

Your next stop is Ithaca, home of Odysseus (Ulysses), hero of the Trojan War and Homer’s epic poem, the Odyssey. Ithaca and neighboring Kefalonia are superior cruising grounds, which offer a mix of interesting towns with potential trips inland, pristine beaches, and coves. Going ashore to explore the villages and to savor a delicious meal in a taverna offers a relaxing way to enjoy your sailing holiday and explore the local culture.

Kefalonia

The coves and bays along the stretch of the Kefalonian coast have a picturesque beauty with small port towns just waiting to be explored. If you are looking for seclusion during your sailing holiday, you can find it on this island or if you are looking to enjoy the quiet nightlife, that is also available. If you are looking to scuba dive, Kefalonia offers a superb opportunity but it will need to be booked through an organized excursion due to regulations.

If you rather stay onboard, a delicious dinner and quiet time in the cockpit around sunset also can be relaxing.

With picturesque homes and shops climbing the hillside in a rainbow of whitewashed walls and colorful roofs, Parga offers a great day life and nightlife.
